CluesThe Traveler’s Rest Hitchhiker Hostel is located at The Creative Door, 823 Burlington Ave, Western Springs. (about 4 minutes off I-294). Hours are; Monday and Thursday, 9am – 8 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9am – 5:30 pm, and Saturday 9am – 5:00 pm. Closed Sundays.708-246-1632
For those unfamiliar with hitchhiker hostels, they are letterboxes with a stamp and logbook of their own, yet they also are guaranteed to always contain hitchhikers. However, YOU MAY ONLY TAKE A HITCHHIKER IF YOU LEAVE ONE IN ITS PLACE.
The box has its own stamp and guest-logbook so you can visit it as you would any other box. (Please do not take the guest book or stamp by accident) Please stamp into the guestbook with your personal stamp and with the image of any HH you are leaving. The hostel has a planned capacity for 2 - 3 reasonably sized hitchhikers. At times we may accommodate more when smaller guests check in. If you take a HH you must leave a HH. At all times there should be at least two HH checked in.
To obtain the Hostel, just ask at the desk if they have any rooms available in the Hostel.
